Valet and Refresh

Definitions:

Valet updates the PointCare operating system and should be done every Wednesday morning.

Selective Refresh updates tables such as Reason Codes, Doctors, diagnoses, etc. and should be done every Wednesday morning.

Renew installs a new version of the PointCare operating system and is done only when told.

The following 5 steps are the instructions on how to "Valet" & "Selective Refresh" which is to be done every Wednesday morning:

Menu: tap Menu -> tap Maintenance -> tap Communications

2) Valet: tap Valet -> check off "Update FDB" -> tap Update PointCare > When you see that it successful hit dismiss.

2b) If you get a message that applications need to be installed -> Tap Package Installer -> Replace Application? - tap OK -> Do you want to install this application?, - tap Install -> tap Done
3) Selective Refresh: tap Selective Refresh -> tap Select All (all checkboxes on page will become checked) -> tap Select on the bottom of the page -> tap Close

4) Synchronize: tap Synchronize -> tap Close

5) tap Back Arrow to go back to PointCare

If after Synchronizing your device you get the following message:

"You are using an old version of PointCare. Completed visits will be synched but before you can receive new visits you must update PointCare."

Do step 2 above (Valet).

If after Synchronizing your device you get the following message:

"Run Valet in the maintenance menu using server code "PCOLD" to get the previous version of PointCare. Finish any in progress visits with the old version, and then after synching, use Valet again to get the new version of PointCare."

Do step 2 above (Valet) but remember to put the word PCOLD on top where it says server instead of Revival.

Complete all incomplete and paused visits.

Sync the device.
